The celebrated milestone for Kamal Hassan’s acting excellence, Sagara Sangamam is a collective effort of many talented actors including Jayaprada, Sharat Babu, Manju Bhargavi, S. K. Misro, Sakshi Ranga Rao and many others. Jandhyala’s dialogues, Ilayaraja’s music and Thota Tarani’s art in this film are still used as stencils by the modern film makers. Sagara Sangamam has received two National Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards South and the Nandi Award for Best Feature Film (Bronze). The film is listed among CNN-IBN's list of 100 greatest Indian films of all time.
